Thus, some people even enjoy it when more people are after that. For your case, it seems like this girl is very frank and honest with you which is a good thing. However, she also let you know that you have a rival! So she might be hinting that you need to do more in order to win her heart. On the other hand, she might be telling you that you don't have a chance since there's another guy after her. These are 2 possibilities. If it's me, I will continue to be friends with her if I am sincere about her. I won't do extra things to win her heart but I will continue to show her that I am sincere.
